GolfF.I.T.T.

Functionally Integrated Titleist Training

GolfF.I.T.T. is a comprehensive fitness program specifically designed to address any physical limitations that are contributing to your swing faults. Fit golfers suffer less from nagging injuries common to unfit golfers, like overuse tendonitis problems and aching backs.

A Titleist certified golf fitness instructor, using a systematic fitness assessment created by Titleist golf, will screen you. Your results will reveal your fitness handicap that will be used to design your fitness program. Your results will be shared with your golf pro at San Diego Golf Institute.

Why exercise?
A game of golf might take between three and six hours, with the time over the ball, from address through impact, taking as many as 90 minutes—assuming one minute per stroke, and 90 being the average score. The swing itself, from the beginning of the back swing until the player reaches the balance-finish position—lasts between one and two seconds. During this time, the body is required to move in a very specific fashion, storing and releasing potential energy in as efficient a manner as possible, delivering the club head back to the ball at speed and on target. This is the challenge in golf; to do so accurately requires hours of practice; to do so at the end of a grueling round requires endurance; to do so out of heavy rough or the wet sand requires strength.

Tip from a pro!
“I have put thousands of hours into hitting balls and listening to the advice of my mentors. However, I have learned through experience that peak performance can’t be achieved on the range or the course alone. Without adequate flexibility and proper conditioning all of my practice is inefficient. This belief is manifested time and time again in my experience with students of all ability levels. Most students come to me with the desire to become more consistent and to hit the ball further. I believe that both consistency and distance are impossible to achieve if fatigue has become a recurring issue with your game”.
