Student Internships

Addie’s Personal Training Studio works with the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and San Diego State University (SDSU) to provide an internship program as part of their extended studies programs. UCSD’s program works closely with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) to prepare students for the field of personal training. SDSU’s offers it’s own Professional Certificate in Personal Fitness Training. The Addie’s Personal Training Studio internship program is designed to expose students to fitness professionals and the personal training they provide in a “real-world” environment.

We require our interns to spend at least 10 hours per week in the facility. They are provided with an educational checklist composed of various topics related to personal training (exercises, philosophies, fitness testing and evaluation, etc.). All interns must also complete a final examination prior to the conclusion of their internship. Our goal is to educate students as much as possible during their time with us.

If you are interested in our internship program, please send us your resume along with any additional questions you may have. Resumes may be sent as email-text, email-attachment (ASCII text or Word document), by using Addie's resume form or by U.S. mail.

My intership experience at Addie's Studio was a wonderful entryway into the health and fitness industry. Addie and her team of trainers not only taught me the fundamental techniques of personal training, but also the interpersonal communications skills necessary to develop strong client relations. erica, Jon, Dane and Addie showed me that through encouragement, compassion, and proper programming, improved levels of fitness can be achieved by anyone regardless of physical limitations. I am so thankful to Addie's for creating an open and supportive environment for interns to learn and for clients to work towards an improved quality of life.

Addie's Studio was a great place to intern. The trainers were not only friendly and knowledgeable, but also genuinely wanted to help me succeed. By working with several trainers and a diverse clientele, I was able to get a well-rounded picture of personal training. My experience at Addie's has given me the foundation and confidence I need to begin a new career in fitness.
